This short miniature for euphonium and percussion was written during the COVID-19 lockdown for the Moreau-VanTuinen Duo, who issued a call for short pieces/miniatures.

The piece is based on a short haiku I wrote (see above) about daydreaming - how one can be lost in a myriad of surreal realities, then all of a sudden be snapped back into the present, at which point one's thoughts flutter away. The fleeting nature of this piece, despite its somewhat excessive, cloying sound-world, is an evocative text-setting of this haiku.
